I had the absolute joy of doing my final year industry placement with Carly from Logolicious and SugarPop Parties. She is currently updating her brand to become Hello Sugar. During my placement I worked primarily on logo and branding design for her small business clients along with social media graphics.

Many of the projects I worked on involved a lot more than just working on the visual design aspects. Although the design was an important part of the final product many of these small businesses also required the text copy written for them or even their entire marketing plan thought out for them. 

I had not really considered that as a freelance graphic designer, I would be involved in writing and putting marketing pitches together, so this was a valuable experience. 

Some of my projects

I designed a series of Instagram and Facebook posts for Evoke hair salon to support their move into a new premises. I also created gift vouchers and business cards

A minimal and classic ice-creamery style logo for a hire gelato cart & a fresh and stylish logo for an upcoming Newcastle party hire company.

I also worked on a new logo with Carly, a fresh brand to cover her graphic design, party hire, event styling and kids entertainment businesses.

The rebranding project also included business cards, email marketing pages and marketing documents, these are all still current works in process and cannot yet be shown. I worked with Carly on colour, pattern, layout and type choices. 

This logo and accompanying business cards + social media designs was created for a local mobile self-tanning company - bare + beautiful.

We went through so many revisions to get to this logo and business card designs, it was great to have the insight and advice of Carly throughout the design process.
