Sunset Family Photoshoot

Here in Newcastle and Port Stephens, we are just surrounded by so many incredibly beautiful beaches and landscapes. I recently had the opportunity to capture two beautiful new families with their baby boys. Shot over different days at two of Port Stephen’s most beautiful sunset beach locations, I really enjoyed the challenge of capturing a wriggling, joyful little bub! Family is just so precious and the time flies oh so quickly, that’s why simple and authentic family photo shoots are so valuable. It may feel like a significant investment at the time but family photos truly become a timeless heirloom.

One of my favourite parts of these shoots was capturing portraits with Mum & bub and also with just Dad & baby. I love the contrast of big, strong manly arms holding a tiny precious bundle. I love the incredible beauty that shines out of a mum as she holds her baby in her arms. It’s such an honour to capture these moments and I’m always touched to be invited to be a part of it.

Sunset (or sunrise if you’re game!) is an great time for family photos, golden hour gives such creamy, warm light that makes skin tones glow and highlights delicate details.

I aim to capture photographs that are authentic, intimate and timeless, with the hope that they bring joy for years & years to come.
