UK Adventures
Our road trip from Portsmouth all the way up to northern Scotland and the Isle of Skye. Along the way we poked around the Cotswolds, explored the Lakes District and visited beautiful gardens in Bristol.

Our adventures were largely focused exploring nature but we both adored Castle Combe and it’s beautiful old homes.
Scotland just captured our hearts from the moment we stepped out of our car and took in the scenery. The landscape on the Isle of Skye was incredible and like nothing we had ever seen before.
Glencoe was dramatic and wild and constantly changing with the different weather conditions.
The Lakes District was definitely a highlight for us, we hiked to the top of Helm Crag in Ambleside which gave us incredible views of Grasmere and the surrounding mountains.
I love all the amazing gardens the UK has to offer - from structured botanical gardens to rambling flower beds outside cottages, we weren’t alone in admiring the flowers either, lots of bumblebees were also enjoying the beautiful blooms.
Our favourite spots
The Lakes District: everywhere you turn it is unbelievably beautiful ! We particularly loved climbing Helm Crag, wandering around Grasmere, visiting gardens at Holehird in Winderemere, many many pub lunches in various villages, flying our drone through Honister Pass and high tea at Ullswater after a cruise around the lake
Glencoe: driving through the valley, visiting Loch Etive, the GlenFinnan Viaduct and lunch at Craft & Things cafe
The Isle of Skye: Neist Point for dramatic cliffs and amazing views, The Fairy Pools and Loch Mealt
The Cotswolds: Castle Combe and Bradford (but go early to avoid the crowds!)
The Peak District: An unexpectedly beautiful area! We only had one night but we loved Bramford Edge, Winnats Pass and Ashford In The Water
