As a creative and a designer, it’s so important to always have projects on the side that are for practice and experimentation.  It’s a great way to keep growing in your own personal style and staying current with different design trends.

This conceptual project is just something I’ve put together to play with different styles of hand lettering and a different colour palette.  The theme I had in mind was ‘Modern Romantic’. I wanted something wild and moody but constrained with very minimal type and shapes. 

If you scroll through the gallery below, you will see some of the different styles of lettering I experimented with.  It’s incredible how different the same word can look and feel by changing the way it is written.  

A single page brand board is a great way to summarise your brand’s aesthetics and style in an easy to access and understand format.  A detailed style guide is a really important brand asset, especially when there are multiple people working on different parts of the brand. For smaller businesses and freelancers a single page summary can often be just as useful.
