Golden Hour Photoshoot
The best time for photography is undisputedly golden hour, the moments of perfect, soft and golden light surrounding sunrise and sunset.
For me personally, the golden moments of sunrise will forever be my personal favourite. I also had to consider the direction of the sunrise/sunset. In my home town, the sunrises over one of our ocean facing beaches, but sets over the bay, so shooting sunrise means vast horizons, rolling waves and white sand. Shooting sunset means shooting off a jetty with boats and fisherman; still beautiful but not the look I was interested in.
This shoot was a self-directed project, I love to take on personal shoots to practice and refine my style and technique. Thankfully I have some beautiful and very patient friends, who will happily wake up before sunrise and head down to the beach with me.
