Magazine Design

This was one of my first year university projects, the joy I felt working on this assignment helped me realise how passionate I was about studying design.

We worked in a group of four to produce a fictional magazine, producing everything from the cover design to the advertisements. We had to create our own imagery entirely but didn't have to write the articles. We chose to focus our issue of Faux magazine on 'Habits' and covered a variety of personal interest topics. My articles were about homemade chai tea and making jam.

Along with the design considerations working on this project was a great lesson in teamwork and working alongside other creative individuals.

You can see our full magazine here as a digital publication on Issu.

The gift guide advertisement I created below is entirely fictitious and not all shop locations are accurate, however it was the perfect feature advertisement for our fictitious magazine. Design and photography are both by me.

As we had to create our own imagery for the assignment it meant I also got to work on my lifestyle photography and I really enjoyed the multiple photoshoots I worked on. Here's a sample from one of them below..

I can't look at these images without wanting tea & toast - such a comforting classic!
